Hello and welcome.
I’m Margaret Hoover, the host of Firing Line, a weekly show in which I interview the brightest minds and freshest voices from across the political spectrum, from Bernie Sanders to Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Premised on the original program’s insight that civil discourse is a civic responsibility, my revival of William F. Buckley Jr.’s Firing Line is the only long-form interview program on broadcast television lasting a full half hour without commercials. Every week, we engage in a rigorous contest of ideas about the most important issues facing our nation. At a time of deep polarization, it’s this sort of exchange that keeps our democracy alive.
I’ve hosted the program since Firing Line premiered in 2018. I’m also a bestselling author, strategist, and political commentator. I’ve worked on the White House staff of President George W. Bush, on Capitol Hill, and on two presidential campaigns. I am also the co-founder of American Unity Fund, a political organization focused on achieving full freedom and equality for LGBT Americans by working with conservatives. I also serve on the board of overseers for the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and on the board of trustees for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Foundation.
Find Firing Line every week on PBS and YouTube, and listen to extended interviews wherever you get your podcasts.
